Geran Digital PMKS MADANI: How to Claim up to RM5,000
How the Geran Digital PMKS MADANI works: 50% of the invoice up to RM5,000, who qualifies, what you can claim, the steps, and the mistakes that cost money.
The Geran Digital PMKS MADANI pays up to 50% of the invoice for a digital service, capped at RM5,000 per business. The Ministry of Finance funds it, BSN administers it, and you must buy from a service provider on MDEC’s panel. You pay your share, and BSN pays the grant portion to the provider. O2O Digital is an MDEC-registered digitalisation partner, so this guide also covers how the process works with us.

Who qualifies
According to BSN, an applicant must meet all four conditions:
- At least 60% Malaysian-owned. This covers MSMEs, cooperatives and professional service providers.
- Registered. That means registration with SSM, a business licence from the local authority (PBT), registration with the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM), or registration with the relevant professional body.
- Operating for at least six months.
- Average annual sales of at least RM50,000.
If you received an earlier digitalisation matching grant, check BSN’s FAQ before you apply. Previous recipients have been limited to e-invoicing services.
What you can claim
BSN lists nine digitalisation areas:
- Digital payment or electronic point of sale (e-POS)
- HR and payroll systems, or customer relationship management (CRM)
- Digital marketing and sales
- Cybersecurity
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP), accounting and taxation
- Digital signature
- IoT and smart systems
- Artificial intelligence (AI)
- E-invoice
What counts is how the provider’s package is listed on MDEC’s panel, not what the service is called on a quotation. Before you sign anything, ask the provider which listed package covers the work.
How to apply, step by step
- Choose an MDEC-listed provider. Get a quotation for each digital service, up to three. Ask for a separate line item for each service so it can be checked against the panel listing.
- Submit your application online. BSN’s “Apply Now” button leads to the application form. You will typically need your IC, your business registration, proof of sales such as recent accounts or bank statements, and the provider’s quotation.
- Wait for approval. Do not pay the provider or start the work before your application is approved.
- Pay your share within 14 days of approval. Pay the provider the invoice total minus the grant amount.
- BSN pays the provider. Once BSN receives your proof of payment, it pays the grant portion directly to the provider.
- Complete the onboarding. Finish the training and setup your provider specifies, and submit any proof of implementation BSN asks for.
How much you actually pay
The grant is 50% of the invoice, up to a total of RM5,000 per business:
| Invoice total | Grant | You pay |
|---|---|---|
| RM4,000 | RM2,000 | RM2,000 |
| RM8,000 | RM4,000 | RM4,000 |
| RM12,000 | RM5,000 (capped) | RM7,000 |
| Two services, RM10,000 in total | RM5,000 (capped) | RM5,000 |
Anything above a RM10,000 invoice is paid entirely by you. Splitting the work into several services does not raise the cap.
Mistakes that cost money
- Paying or signing before approval. If your application is rejected, you owe the full price.
- Using a provider that is not on the panel. The grant only covers providers listed by MDEC.
- Missing the 14-day payment window. Your share is due within 14 days of approval.
- Missing the contract terms. Some telco bundles under the grant require a 24-month contract, and some say you pay the full charges if the grant is later refused or suspended. Read the terms before you activate anything.
- Assuming the round is still open. BSN says the RM5,000 allocation is subject to directives from the Ministry of Finance. Funds are limited, so confirm the programme is accepting applications.
Is the grant part of Budget 2027?
BSN presents the current grant as part of the MADANI Budget 2025. The Budget 2027 coverage we reviewed did not announce a new allocation or changes to it. Check BSN’s page for the current status before you plan a project around the grant.
