An MOF kod bidang is the 6-digit field code that decides which goods or services your company may supply to the Malaysian government. Agencies can only invite suppliers registered under the code that matches the purchase. ICT, website and multimedia companies need the right codes under sector 21 (ICT) and sector 01 (Penerbitan dan Penyiaran). The full list is under Senarai Kod Bidang on the ePerolehan portal (eperolehan.gov.my).

How to read an MOF kod bidang

Each code has three parts of two digits:

Digits Meaning Example: 210104
1 and 2 Sector 21 = ICT
3 and 4 Field (bidang) 01 = Computer equipment, hardware and components
5 and 6 Sub-field 04 = Software/system development, customisation and maintenance

Your codes are printed in Lampiran A of the MOF certificate, with the date each code was registered and its status.

How to check a code on ePerolehan

  1. Open eperolehan.gov.my.
  2. Choose Senarai Kod Bidang.
  3. Search by keyword (for example “software”) or by code number.
  4. Read the full sub-field name before you add it to your application.

Before you submit a quotation, check the codes the notice asks for. A company not registered under that code is not eligible.

Where codes are used: direct purchase, quotation and tender

These are the federal limits for supplies and services, in force since 29 November 2022 after the Treasury circular (Pekeliling Perbendaharaan, PK) amendments, according to Ministry of Finance briefing documents:

Method Value
Direct purchase (pembelian terus) Up to RM50,000
Quotation (sebut harga) Above RM50,000 up to RM500,000, at least 5 suppliers invited
Tender Above RM500,000

State governments, statutory bodies and universities can set lower internal limits. Check the terms in each notice.

In every method, the agency picks suppliers by kod bidang. The right codes decide whether your company is invited at all.

FAQ

How many codes can a company register? Check the current limit in ePerolehan when you apply. Register only codes you can actually supply, because agencies assess experience per code.

Do state governments and GLCs use the same codes? Many state agencies, statutory bodies and GLCs accept the MOF certificate and refer to the same codes. Some GLCs run their own vendor portals.

Can I add codes after the certificate is issued? Yes, through an add-code application in your ePerolehan account.
