The best web design company in Malaysia is the one whose past work, team and location match your project. For most businesses, that means an agency with a portfolio of live Malaysian sites, its own designers and developers, and the services you will need after launch, such as hosting, SEO and support. The ten companies below meet those tests, and each suits a different kind of buyer.

A note on this list. O2O Digital wrote this article and is one of the ten companies on it. We have not ranked anyone first, including ourselves. Each entry says who the company is best for, so you can shortlist two or three and compare quotes.

How did we choose these companies?

We used five criteria, and every company on the list meets most of them:

  1. A portfolio of live Malaysian sites. You should be able to click through to real websites the company built for local clients.
  2. Years operating. Every company has traded for several years, so there is a track record to check.
  3. An in-house team. The company designs and builds sites itself rather than reselling templates or passing work to freelancers.
  4. A Malaysian office. Each has a published address in the Klang Valley, Penang or Perak, where you can meet the team.
  5. Services beyond design. Hosting, maintenance, SEO or digital marketing, so the site has support once it goes live.

All facts below come from each company’s own website, checked in October 2026. Founding years and team sizes are the companies’ own claims. Where a company does not publish a fact, we have left it out rather than guess.

How do you choose a web design company in Malaysia?

Start with the work, not the pitch. These checks take an hour and filter out most poor fits.

  1. Open three live sites from the portfolio. Test them on your phone. Check that they load quickly, read well and still belong to the client.
  2. Ask who will do the work. Find out whether designers and developers are on staff or contracted out, and who your day-to-day contact will be.
  3. Confirm the platform. WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or a custom build each affect how easily you can edit the site and how much it costs to run.
  4. Ask who owns what. You should own the domain, the content and the design, with admin access to the site and to Google Analytics.
  5. Check what happens after launch. Ask what hosting, updates, backups and security cost each year, and how quickly the agency responds to problems.
  6. Ask about SEO from day one. Page titles, redirects from your old site and structured data are cheaper to do during the build than after.
  7. Visit the office or call it. A published address in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor or Penang makes it easier to meet the team during the project.

If you are replacing an existing site, answer the questions in our website redesign checklist before you brief anyone. For a company site, compare each proposal against the corporate website must-haves.

How much does web design cost in Malaysia?

It depends on the size of the site, how much is custom-built, and whether you need e-commerce. A small company site built on a theme costs a few thousand ringgit. A custom corporate site or an online store with payment and shipping integrations runs into the tens of thousands. Hosting, maintenance and content updates are ongoing costs on top.

Our guide to website cost in Malaysia breaks this down by type of site. If you sell online, read what an e-commerce website costs.

When you compare quotes, compare scope first. Two quotes at the same price can include very different numbers of pages, design rounds and post-launch support.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best web design company in Malaysia?

There is no single best company. The right choice depends on your project. A WordPress specialist suits a site your team will edit, a software company suits a site tied to internal systems, and a full-service agency suits a business that also needs SEO or ads. Shortlist two or three and compare their live work.

Should I hire a web design company in KL or Selangor?

Location matters less than portfolio, but a nearby office makes meetings and workshops easier. Many agencies, including O2O Digital, LOCUS-T, Flow Creates and ZenWeb, are in Petaling Jaya and serve clients across the Klang Valley.

How long does it take to build a website in Malaysia?

A standard corporate website usually takes four to eight weeks. Larger sites, online stores and custom platforms can take 12 weeks or more, depending on how quickly content and feedback arrive.

Do web design companies in Malaysia also do SEO?

Most of the companies on this list do. Check whether SEO is included in the build, such as page titles, redirects and structured data, or sold separately as a monthly service.
